Black Ball
Black is Back!
Crown Casino in conjunction with Microhire Creative, collaborated to create the first Anniversary celebration of Crown Signature Black's launch. Crown casino Melbourne's most coveted clients from all over the world were invited to attend a night of entertainment and dramatic styling. Microhire Creative along with the amazing Crown Events Team, bought to life the most exclusive cabaret room in the country for one night only.
The dramatic Crown Palladium Ballroom was turned into a cocktail space and a stunning cabaret dining room for the night. Moet et Chandon held an exclusive welcome reception for the 650 guests, styled in black and red, the guests sipped vintage Moet and dined on the finest of food Crown selected from the menu's of Crowns Premium restaurants. Velvet reveal drapes opened on cue to guide guests up the staircase and into the Palladium Club. A three tiered dining space to heighten the viewing pleasure meant that all 650 guests could not miss a second of the nights action packed entertainment. Tables were covered in custom black stripped linen topped with dozens imported Ecuadorian roses in the deepest shade of red. Only arriving that morning by jet, the 3000 stems were trimmed and arranged into a perfect bouquet along with a series of monumentally large arrangements in French black gloss urns.
The night started with Microhire revealing a troupe of Ballet dancers that were secluded away in the centre of a giant LED Chandelier ring that rose into the ceiling of Palladium with Sally Cooper performing on violin backed by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Vivaldi's four seasons was bought to life with imagery and dramatic lighting strikes on the massive 36 square metre circular ceiling feature and to add just a fraction more excitement, two further LED Chandeliers were in the ceiling to create an enormous trio of colour and movement. The entertainment continued throughout the night with the amazing vocal talents of Anthony Callea and the launch of the newest vocal group 'Bravissimo' who appeared throughout the room singing Italian opera, culminating in the whole team of 18 on the stage for the dramatic finale of that part of the evening. Microhire Technical choreographed the visual effects that ran through the three giant LED Chandelier features in the room, to create the most amazing atmosphere.
The evening ended with a final curtain call of Anthony, joined by last years lead entertainment, Miss. Kate Ceberano. We then exploded fireworks all over the stage screens and Chandelier features. What a night of amazing lighting, staging and entertainment!

Spanish Cocktail Party
Sometimes it's just about having a good time and celebrating with your clients. Sangria, anyone? Was the question of the night at this cocktail party for 300 in South bank. The in-house dining room was turned into a stylish and elegant tango bar. The theme was red and black and every aspect of the night was built around making sure the guests were looked after. Giant oyster chukking stations in the centre of the room, an enormous bar at either end and lots of comfortable seating...Barcelona’s of course! Custom created red rose balls dominated the room, and a stunning new red velvet banquet with Melbourne unfolding from the panoramic windows.... Impresionante!

Vanity Fair
Eight months of planning went into one of the financial worlds night of nights. The event team of this prominent financial institution wanted this years event to be like no other. From start to finish it was to have excitement, glamour, music and amazing food. Having used every event space in Melbourne, the team chose Melbourne’s iconic “Great Hall” at the National Gallery of Victoria, International. This amazing space with its ‘art piece’ ceiling, would be turned into a night club like none other. Microhire worked closely with the events team to pull this years amazing concept together. What was the concept you ask? Pure Luxe!
Italian Furniture in black and white, giant light features topped out with palms and a lighting rig that rivalled a rock concert, even a 6 metre diameter Italian Bar. The bar was made to look like ice blocks and was the centrepiece to the room. More you ask? Well in the centre of the bar was an amazing Dj station, that was kept busy all night with some of Australia's best talent. We even created revolving imagery that would highlight the food being served throughout the room on cue with the waiting staff.
“It was a wondrous site seeing the guests in evening attire walk through the gardens for the champagne reception, so Vanity Fair Oscars Party” commented Microhire’s Creative Director, Michael Davey,”and then watch their faces light up as they walked into the Great Hall. We had to get the waiters to bring the guests in as they just stood and looked around the room in amazement, now that’s powerful!”.
With comments like “ best event ever” and “ what a success”, I think we are assured that Microhire did a great job!

UCI Geelong
ON THE ROAD AND RACING WITH UCI!
While Geelong was bought to a stand still for the 2010 UCI Road Race Championships, the classic seaside drinking spot, the Sailors Rest, became the 'in place' to relax for corporate guests enjoying a day at this amazing event. Contracted through the newly formed Event Management Company, Event7, Microhire was responsible for the technical and creative fit out of the corporate lounges over two floors at the historic Geelong venue.
Microhire with Laura Gibson (Event7, Managing Director) created two floors of elegant lounging with the second floor of the venue specifically geared towards the VIP guests as it had its own separate dining facility. Blue, white, silver was the palette for the event. 'Slick' styling added that sense of perfect contrast to the historic Victorian look of this Geelong favourite. Bespoke cushions added a sense of whimsy to the bay window seating area, right through to the designer table items to add that right level of styling. Microhire Technical fitted the entire venue out with LCD panels so guests could witness the live transmission into the venue of all aspects of the course and the race, even the children were taken care of with a full video lounge set up with interactive games and vision.
An amazing partnership between Event7, event sponsors and Microhire!
